We provide grants to local nonprofits providing education, prevention, treatment, or research for alcohol and/or substance abuse.
Investing in our community
Since the creation of our grant program in 2021, we have awarded over $3M to nonprofits providing prevention, education, treatment, or research for alcohol and substance abuse in New Hanover County.
These funds have increased access to SUD treatment, trauma therapy, sober housing opportunities, effective alcohol & substance abuse prevention for youth, re-entry services, and much more.
The Healing Place of NHC works with individuals affected by addiction and homelessness through a proven peer-driven model of accountability and connection, free of cost to clients.
LINC Inc. provides a wide range of transitional living and case management services to provide men and women returning from prison a positive and supportive re-entry experience.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern NC provides enriching after school care for youth in Southeastern NC. Grant funding supports SMART Moves, a program to prevent drug and alcohol use.
Coastal Horizons provides evidence-based substance use services in NC. Funding supports drug and alcohol misuse prevention for adults, families, youth, and merchants in New Hanover County.
A Safe Place works with survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking in New Hanover County. Funding supports the Supportive Housing Program, which provides safe and sober housing for clients.
Carousel Child Advocacy Center supports child survivors of abuse and neglect, offering vital healing opportunities that help reduce the risk of future alcohol or substance abuse.
TIDES provides pregnant and newly postpartum women an extensive recovery program including housing, transportation, case management, and training to prepare them for life after the program.
First Fruit Ministries works with unsheltered neighbors and survivors of trafficking to provide holistic solutions including medical care, therapy, showers, laundry, hot meals, and more.
